5 Makeup Tips All Older Women Should Know

One of the main things that concerns those of us who are female is our appearance. We are constantly in a battle with ourselves about how we look – since birth, in fact.

At the end of the day, the choice of whether or not to wear makeup depends entirely on them and should not be made to please someone else!

Don’t worry about it! You too can enjoy the glory as in your youth with just a few strokes of clever makeup and beauty. We’ve gone through several of them to offer you these 15 clever make-up and beauty tips, just for you!

1: No Eyeliner? Mascara to the rescue!

Your pencil has been worn out until there is nothing left; the jar of mascara gel scratches the bottom; and the liquid lining is completely dry. Or maybe you’re travelling and you forgot to bring your eyeliner; oh, tragedy!

This is how you save the day: work your mascara spoon deep into the tube to get a good drop of mascara. Then transfer it all to a clean, hard surface (your nail is ideal in a pinch); dab the edge of a fine point brush and paint a very fine line along the lashes (a thick brush may not be applied very evenly). This method is safe for your eyes and will ensure that your mascara will stay in place for a long time!

2:Say no to the powder

Powder, for many of us, is an essential element when it comes to our makeup routine. Maybe it’s because we start wearing makeup in our teens, when our skin is much more oily and… finally, tighter.

The problem with wearing powder when you are older is that it tends to settle in the skin, and eventually reveals even tiny folds and wrinkles that you may not have noticed, but you certainly don’t want to draw attention to.

The powder can still be useful when you are on a night out, but you might be better off replacing it with one of the many creams or arrangement sprays that will not only keep your base in place, but also effectively hide all these wrinkles. These products are also a much better alternative for a more relaxed and daily beauty regime.

3: Lip

Lip sculpting is no secret to anyone: lips naturally thin with age, but sculpting can help you achieve fuller lips with just a few brush strokes.

All you need are two shades of lipstick (a darker and lighter shade of a similar color), a liner that is also a complementary color and a regular old corrector. Once you have collected the supplies, start by lining your lips along the edges. Be careful not to come out of the lips, but just above the slightly bumpy part just at the edge of the pigmentation.

Now draw lines going inwards to the centre of the mouth. Start by filling the outer half of your lips with the darker shade of lipstick, then the middle half with the lighter shade. Use a sponge to thoroughly mix the two shades where they meet, but do not switch from one colour to another. Clean the edges with a little concealer, and that’s it – a plumper’s pout!

4: Know your tone of voice

Finding the perfect foundation shade is a long and tedious process of guessing, testing and rejecting. Each brand has its own shades and no two brands have the same foundation color, so when our trusted brand is not available or ceases to exist, we want to have a nervous breakdown. But the fact is that using the right foundation shade is important enough to ensure that your makeup is on the right track.

If you are over 50, there is good news for you. As you age, your skin tends to look brighter and younger when you wear a yellow foundation, so choosing the right foundation becomes much easier. Golden tones in general are very age-defying. The yellows of the foundation will act against the greyish tones that naturally appear with age and will give you a younger-looking complexion.

5: Lip balm = Eyebrow gel

Filling the eyebrows to give them the perfect shape is a task and a half in itself, but when you have to deal with unruly hair – don’t even think about it! You already have a dozen make-up products and you don’t really want to buy any anymore. Lucky for you, if you have a colorless lip balm, you don’t have to.Use a clean brush, a sponge
